Being a Philadelphia wedding photographer and family photographer means that I have the distinct honor of photographing couples as they become families. Kimberly and Shane are one of those special couples. I photographed their fall engagement in Valley Forge, and their COVID elopement. After the pandemic settled, I photographed their William Penn Inn wedding day and now, they’re expecting. I’m absolutely thrilled they asked me to capture their Longwood Gardens maternity portraits. It was such a wonderful session for all of us – and I cannot wait to meet their little one when they arrive!
Longwood Gardens Maternity Portraits
When we were discussing possible options for locations for their maternity session, we finally settled on Longwood Gardens. I absolutely love photographing portraits here. There’s such great options throughout the property for backdrops – from the gorgeous architecture to the gardens themselves. At each of Kimberly and Shane’s big life events we have gotten a landscape image of them with a big tree in the background. Longwood Gardens was perfect spot to capture yet another one of those stunning images. I love that we kept up the tradition, too!! If you’re expecting, consider portraits at Longwood Gardens. It’s a great option to return to – and I love the idea of having a portrait of mom with a baby in her belly, then holding that baby in the same spot the next year. Those little call back moments are beautiful.
For their portraits, Kimberly chose a sage green gown from my client wardrobe. It matches well with the color of Baby Freeman’s nursery, which means all of these images will look wonderful together when their little one arrives. I love the way the color popped against the gardens and buildings around Longwood Gardens. It was a beautiful choice!!
Kimberly and Shane, I’m so happy for you both. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this next chapter with you (and baby!).
