Congratulations, Diana and Matt! This fall, Diana and Matt planned a classic and chic Philadelphia wedding at Fairmount Water Works – one of the most beautiful landmarks in the city. I loved getting to photograph this wedding, because Diana is part of a big friend group that I’ve photographed numerous weddings for. I actually met Diana at her brother’s wedding many years ago and then saw her again through many of her girlfriends’ weddings. So, when it was her day to be the bride, it was incredibly special to me! Diana is so bubbly and Matt is absolutely smitten with her. Capturing their fall wedding at Fairmount Water Works was a dream come true!
Fall Wedding at Fairmount Water Works
Diana and Matt chose the brightest florals for their fall wedding at Fairmount Water Works When I arrived to Diana’s suite at The Logan Hotel and began to photograph their details, I was so excited. The bright florals popped against the ivory and gold of their invitations and rings. Everything looked incredible together!! She finished prepping with her ladies before meeting her brothers for a first look outside the The Logan Hotel. It was SO sweet and a great moment before she met Matt for their first look.
Diana and Matt met each other with Philly’s skyline behind them and had a sweet private moment together. Diana and Matt were adorable together – thrilled to be cuddling up around the property. Before we headed to the church, their wedding party joined them for portraits. I’m absolutely in love with the teal color of her bridesmaid dresses against those bright red and yellow flowers! It was the perfect color palette for a fall celebration.
Once we arrived at the church, Diana, Matt and I slipped away for a moment. Diana’s father passed away years ago and is buried at the church where they were getting married. When I photographed her older brother’s wedding he went down to visit with his dad and took a photo. On Diana’s day, she and Matt visited with him in a really lovely and private moment. It was a truly beautiful moment and the groom got very emotional – a lovely tribute to her father.
Philadelphia Church Wedding Ceremony
The emotions of the day just kept coming. During the ceremony the bride’s mother said that she was sitting in a big stream of sunlight and the warmth that she felt made her realize that Diana’s dad was there. She was telling everyone after the ceremony and basically everyone was a puddle of emotion. It was SO beautiful.
When the ceremony was over, we had time for a few golden hour portraits. Diana and Matt looked incredible in the yellow light – it was warm and just so perfect! We headed into Fairmount Water Works for their reception. I absolutely LOVE this spot in the city. It’s a wonderful landmark and absolutely beautiful. Diana and Matt brought the perfect fall touches into the space, with lots of warm golden accents. They also chose a deep burnt orange for the napkins that echoed in their florals – and even the cake. Beyond the beautiful details, their reception was fun – and full of special moments. Diana’s brothers stood in for her father by doing a first look with her and they made speeches and a toast to her dad. It was a really lovely tribute during the celebration.
The other thing that made Diana and Matt’s wedding day special was Diana’s neighborhood friends, the “Browning Lane Crew”. They have been together through the big moments in all of their lives and they made Diana and Matt’s celebration so much fun. The Browning Lane Crew helped Diana and Matt celebrate – along with all of their loved ones – and it was the perfect end to a gorgeous day!! Congratulations again, Diana and Matt! Your wedding at Fairmount Water Works was so beautiful and I’m honored to have been a part of it all.
