Welcome to the world, Baby Bowen! I’ve been waiting to meet this little guy since I began working with his parents, Kristen and Jesse. They chose a shortened membership plan through Le Papillon, which meant that we photographed Kristen’s maternity session and a newborn session when Bowen arrived. His Media PA lifestyle newborn session did not disappoint!
Media PA Lifestyle Newborn Session
Once Bowen arrived, I went to visit Kristen, James, and their new baby at home. We opted to focus on the nursery and master bedroom while I was there. These are the rooms I typically use during lifestyle sessions, so I always encourage my families to clear these rooms of clutter before I arrive. I can handle prepping the light and any last minute adjustments – but removing clutter prior to the session is a big help. Stash all of the items you move in another room until after our session! Both rooms had gorgeous greens, browns, and creams – as well as other earthy tones. It made our final gallery so cohesive and beautiful. Kristen also wore a green gown, which helped bring everything together.
As always, I began our session with Bowen on a white blanket and in a white wrap. It’s my favorite way to begin any newborn session! Since his nursery has a Winnie the Pooh theme, we also made sure to capture some portraits of him with his furry friends. His sweet grandmother had collected stuffed animals prior to his arrival. So, we created a few special moments with him snuggling next to them. I love how this would be a great feature image to hang in his nursery one day!! Bowen was a great baby for me, and loved snuggling with his parents (and grandma!), so my job was super easy. I am so happy I got to meet this sweet guy.
After their session, Bowen’s parents opted for a matted print box in the Grove Classic Linen with custom debossing. They have a collection of 12×12 frames at the top of their stairs that they wanted to fill with images from the newborn session so this was a perfect option! I loved being able to see the real life inspiration for my families’ artwork decisions. We mocked up wall art collections for Kristen and Jesse to make sure they knew how their final artwork would look within their home.
