Hidden away just west of Center City Philadelphia is a perfect country garden known as Bartram’s Garden. With classic stone buildings, beautiful organic growth and a riverside setting, Bartram’s was the perfect spot for Kate and Nate’s engagement session. Kate and Nate first met as underclassmen at Amherst College in Massachusetts and were fast friends. It wasn’t until the beginning of their sophomore year that they became inseparable. It is clear to see why these two fit so well together. They are both so calm and joyful with each other. As we walked through the gardens they were never out of touch. They held hands, snuggled up and dreamed about starting their life together.
Kate and Nate are total city people. Their engagement story is adorable! Nate planned for them to take a cooking class at Rittenhouse’s “Cook”. After preparing a meal together and learning a few tricks for the kitchen they headed back to their apartment where Nate popped the question. Of course the answer was YES! It is so fitting that this moment of yes took place in the home that they share together because Nate explained that one of his favorite things about Kate is that when he is with her, he feels at home. For Kate, she loves that Nate always makes her feel like the most special girl in the room. That night in their apartment truly solidified those feelings.
Next year, Kate and Nate will be exchanging vows at The Waterworks– a beautiful space located at the base of the Philadelphia Museum of Art overlooking boathouse row. I can’t wait to work with Shannon Wellington Weddings on this one. Kate and Nate have so much love and joy surrounding them and I can’t wait to capture it. Sending so much love to these two today! Can’t wait for next year!
