Sentimental Rehoboth Beach Wedding On Digital and Film Photography

If you know me, you know that Rehoboth Beach is near and dear to my heart. And luckily for me, Meredith and Patrick share my obsession with this beloved piece of coastline! This family friendly vacation destination holds so many cherished memories; it’s a place that truly feels like coming home. I love any chance I get to photograph a Rehoboth Beach wedding, especially one as detail focused and sentimental as Meredith and Patrick’s coastal soiree!

I can’t wait to share the flat lays that had me completely lost in their bedazzled details, to their ceremony on the sand with guests in the most perfect coastal colors! This waterfront celebration was everything a late summer Rehoboth Beach wedding should be.

Getting Ready Details in A Familiar Place

Meredith got ready in her family’s beach house, which immediately set the tone for everything that followed. There’s something irreplaceable about beginning your wedding day in a space that already carries so much of your story. The light, the rooms, and the quiet familiarity of a place Meredith has known her whole life—it was the perfect sentimental getting ready backdrop.

Her bridesmaids wore a beautiful shade of soft, dusty blue in different styles that were universally flattering on all the girls.

I love a good bridal reveal with all your hype girls surrounding you!

The Nashes had so many fun, meaningful, and bedazzled details to photograph that I may have gone a little crazy on these flat lays…

If you’re still in the early wedding planning stages, my guide to beach engagement photo ideas is a good place to start thinking about how a location shapes your imagery!

The Candid Moments In Between

Patrick and his groomsmen were picked up by the Jolly Trolley—an iconic staple of Rehoboth Beach—and transported to Meredith’s family beach house for first look portraits in the backyard. These intimate moments hardly require any direction from me. They just unfold organically, and my job is simply to be ready.

After portraits, the entire wedding party piled back onto the Jolly Trolley and headed to Henlopen Acres Beach Club. These in-between moments are what I live for as a wedding photographer. The singing, the laughing, the candid chaos between items on our shot list while the anticipation builds.

Some of the best candid moments take place in the unplanned pockets of your day.

A Rehoboth Beach Wedding Ceremony On The Sand

Meredith and Patrick’s wedding ceremony took place at Henlopen Acres Beach Club with the Atlantic as their backdrop. Guests arrived in bright colors and fun patterns, coastal accessories, and a warmth that matched the day entirely. Meredith’s mama walked her down the aisle, and their sweet mother daughter dynamic filled every frame with something I can only describe as tender and whole.

The ceremony details had been planned beautifully: flip flops for the beach, parasols handed out as wedding favors for shade, and the kind of thoughtful hospitality that makes guests feel genuinely cared for.

Meredith and Patrick had the cutest kids (and canines!) as part of their wedding entourage. The family photographer in me had to capture these sweet, innocent moments!

Wedding Reception at Henlopen Acres Beach Club

After the ceremony, cocktail hour began while I slipped away to document the reception space. White linens, rattan placemats, and these deep blue goblets caught the late afternoon light beautifully.

Some of the most memorable moments happened during the party that followed. Introductions and dinner naturally progressed into toasts given by family and friends. Then, a mother-daughter dance that I photographed with my whole heart — a moment so full of love it could have stopped time.

Before anyone was ready for the night to end, the most epic line dancing performance (involving dozens of cardboard cutouts of Meredith and Patrick’s faces) broke out on the dance floor. I’ve photographed a lot of receptions. That one lives rent-free in my memory!

Capturing Film Photography at Rehoboth Beach

I always say that film photography doesn’t just document a moment, it transforms it! The softness, subtle grain, and warmth of color were perfect for Rehoboth Beach wedding sunset photos. My favorite part of film photography is how it captures a feeling — alive, tangible, and worth passing down.

When you choose hybrid wedding photography coverage — film and digital together — nothing is missed, and nothing is overproduced. It’s the combination I return to again and again for couples who want their wedding photographs to feel as real as the day itself!
